Senior Procurement Manager - Justice Sector

Are you a strategic thinking construction Senior Procurement Manager who wants to work on the biggest and best projects? Then we have the opportunity for you in our justice sector.
The position requires excellent knowledge of sub-contract experience, including PQQ, tendering, selection, and award. Utilising NEC and JCT type templates and being able to scope out these sub-contract packages is essential.

With a blank canvas, you will be instrumental in developing procurement strategies, policies, and processes. You will draw on your supply chain management skills to enhance collaboration and delivery.
As a Procurement Manager, you will work on the procurement strategy with the Senior Procurement Manager. You will be responsible for delivering project procurement objectives and requirements. Duties include:
- Providing market intelligence, cost advice, supply chain performance management, and feedback
- Supporting a team of procurement professionals, including training & development; staff appraisals; retention & reward; and recruitment to provide an effective procurement service for the project
- Being responsible and accountable for the procurement process of subcontractors, materials, plant, and services, in accordance with the project procurement strategy and commitments
- Providing management information and reports in line with project requirements
- Developing professional, robust, and effective working relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure best value
Essential skills and experience:
- Sub-contract procurement
- Negotiation skills
- Legal & contracting law
- Risk & opportunity management
- Project procurement strategy
Supply chain planning
- Experience in the construction industry or similar, with knowledge of interfaces and relationships
- Ability to manage, plan, and structure operational procurement resources of varying experience and capability
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to deliver robust procurement strategies
- Proven track record of delivering value through procurement activities
Experience of CIPS or working towards CIPS is desirable (or chartership in another discipline such as CIOB or RICS). Relevant in-job experience will also be considered. Candidates should be able to access project offices in Dartford or Manchester.
