Job Description

Senior Procurement Manager, London, Permanent

We're searching for a Senior Procurement Manager who will take an innovative approach to strategic sourcing and value creation. With your valuable procurement perspective and deep understanding of risk management, you'll optimise supplier relationships and ensure our customers receive a high-quality service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement a long-term category strategy according to organisational goals, including savings targets and risk reduction
  • Work with the Pay.UK Head of Commercial Deals, Head of Third Party Risk Management and Pay.UK executives to translate commercial and functional aims into achievable procurement goals
  • Manage large procurement projects of high complexity, risk and value (whether it's a renewal, change or new procurement)
  • Maintain a current understanding of the supplier market, with an awareness of future developments and changes
  • Develop annual plans of activity in liaison with the Pay.UK Head of Commercial Deals, Head of Third Party Risk Management and Pay.UK executives
  • Manage the renewal pipeline appropriately ensuring all contracts are renewed on-time and to the expected standards
  • Engage with Pay.UK business stakeholders and develop stakeholder networks and management approaches across business to ensure all third-party requirements are captured and fed into the appropriate forum
  • Manage expectations and output from stakeholders involved in tenders, contract negotiation and completion including Second Line of Defence stakeholders
  • Work with the Commercial Management team to ensure that those deals are robustly and thoroughly handed over to be managed post-signature
  • Present sourcing approach, sourcing recommendation and deals for approval at the appropriate Committees (where relevant based on criticality and tiering)
  • Understand complex requirements and contract structures, seeking advice from technical / functions as appropriate.
  • Provide issue resolution and mitigation solutions where stakeholders are experiencing poor supplier performance.
  • Management of procurement analyst(s) and manager(s) as required, with responsibility for their goals, performance and career development
  • Develop coaching relationships at all levels to support the development of colleagues and increase the effectiveness of the function
  • Report on cost savings, cost avoidance and a wider set of KRI's and KPI's
  • Coordinate governance for all procurement led procurement projects
  • Oversee the contract renewal pipeline ensuring activities are adequately resourced
  • Enhance existing operational procurement structures, introducing commercial knowledge and rigour underpinned by policy, process and people. Consistently find ways of improving current procurement processes
  • Participate in addressing procurement audit's or 2LoD's mitigation actions

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Appropriate level of procurement experience in Financial Services, Payment Industry or highly regulated sector
  • Procurement Deal Execution (RFI/RFP)
  • Advanced Contract negotiation and completion capability (pre-signature phase)
  • Enhanced stakeholder management capability
  • Contract management renewals experience
  • Delivery of value adds against 3rd party spend
  • Procurement category management experience
