Bilfinger UK is a leading engineering and maintenance provider, supporting customers across various markets. We enhance the efficiency of assets, ensuring a high level of availability and reducing maintenance costs.

This position is required to fulfil and manage the procurement process of various major projects that Bilfinger currently has to deliver across industries including Oil & Gas and Nuclear. The successful candidate will be expected to manage the procurement process from cradle to grave, using their subcontracting experience to support and progress our latest projects.

Key Activities

1. Work within a cross-functional team (Procurement, Sales and Bid Team, Engineering, Quality, Legal, and others as required) to lead the procurement process from cradle to grave on major projects.
2. Manage the following processes:
1. Pre-Contract award:
   • Assist the Proposals team with procured items and subcontracts for work Bilfinger is bidding, minimizing risk in gaps between Client requirements and supply chain deliverables.
   • Manage the tendering process, including commercial clarifications and liaising with others for technical and quality requirements.
   • Select and propose the pricing and lead team information for the Proposals Team.
2. Post Contract award:
   • Create package strategies tailored to desired outcomes, risks, and drivers.
   • Create and manage the Procurement Plan throughout the lifecycle of each project.
   • Work with the engineering team to ensure robust scopes of work packages are created.
   • Ensure all other requirements, e.g., quality, health and safety, project controls, are included.
   • Perform full tender assessments to ensure the most economically advantageous tender is selected.
   • Negotiate subcontracts created at tender stage, ensuring all flowdowns and conditions are agreed.
   • Organize kick-off meetings and expedite requirements.
   • Adhere to Bilfinger SE Compliance requirements.
   • Manage Change Orders.

Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years experience of creating, negotiating, and managing NEC forms of subcontract.
• Proven track record in a senior procurement role within a project environment.
• Knowledge of procurement system SAP.
• Knowledge of forms of contract - NEC3&4, MF1, FIDIC, ICHEME among others.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical, control and instrumentation packages, general plant and equipment.
• Membership of an appropriate professional body, i.e., CIPS (essential).
• Professional/post-graduate Procurement or Management Qualification.
