Senior Project Engineer

Offshore MPA support and supply the highest quality workforce for both the onshore and offshore operations of the renewables, oil & gas, telecommunications and marine industries.

We are currently working with a client actively looking for a Senior Project Engineer;

Duration:Permanent - Full Time

Location: Chelmsford, UK - Hybrid (remote/office - some expectation to support offshore projects)

Scope:

• Lead engineering activities for the clients large installation projects. To manage teams of engineers, ensuring projects are technically and operationally successful. The role requires coordination with internal and external stakeholders, onshore and offshore representation, and occasional international travel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop project documentation, budgets, and procedures in line with QHSE policies.
• Manage procurement, sub-contracting, and technical-commercial evaluations.
• Liaise with Offshore Installation Managers and Vessel Masters for operational planning.
• Provide offshore engineering support, ensuring safe and compliant project execution.
• Approve drawings, assess survey data, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Conduct project risk reviews and maintain risk registers.
• Oversee vessel mobilization, ensuring readiness and efficiency.
• Promote continuous operational improvements and maintain lessons learned records.
• Support additional requests from Project Management and Proposals teams.

Qualifications and Skills:

• 5+ years in offshore vessel-based work, including subsea installation and cable lay.
• Experience in international projects, telecommunications installation, and cable repair.
• Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD.
• Strong technical project management and organizational skills.
• Willing to travel and work offshore occasionally.

Ideal Candidate:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Holds Offshore Survival & Medical certifications.
• Full UK Driving License.
• Experience in subsea telecommunications, cable installation, and repair.
