Job Description

Job purpose

To co-ordinate all engineering functions and achieve a successful outcome technically, commercially to the clients' requirements on the project.

Responsibilities

  1. To comply with the company IPCD.
  2. To comply with the company Process Document.
  3. Technically vet all procurement packages.
  4. Co-ordinate the services for their proper integration into the building and liaise with other disciplines.
  5. Oversee the production of all drawings including plant and sub-contract layouts to ensure co-ordination.
  6. Provide support to the Project Surveyor on commercial matters.
  7. Undertake & manage all labour/direct material matters.
  8. Undertake a regular audit of the Productivity Scheme & ensure the same is completed with the Foreman/Site Manager.
  9. Issue labour targets ahead of the work activity on site.
  10. Regularly progress the site production report (PC07) on site with Foreman/Site Manager.
  11. Maintain accurate records of labour and material elements used in the pre-fabricated sections of the project.
  12. Manage technical and progress issues relating to Plant and Sub-Contractor elements using technical submission process (PD09).
  13. Provide support to the Site Manager on any installation matters.
  14. Maintain Procurement Schedule (PD07) Technical Submission (PD09), Drawing Registers (PD01, PD02, PD03)
  15. With the Site Manager carry out regular Sub-Contract Project Reviews to plan, progress and monitor installations.
  16. Support the Project Manager in all matters relating to the project and act as Project Manager in the absence of.
  17. Represent the company on any internal and external issues.

  1. Mechanical Bias Project Engineer
  2. Managing a project team to reach completion within budget and to programme.
  3. Programme production and management
  4. Interpret the requirements of the specification
  5. Resolve any technical queries during the contract
  6. Managing procurement, labour and sub-contractors.
  7. Assisting in managing variation accounts
  8. Assisting in preparing monthly applications
  9. Construction management and liaising with supervision team
  10. Site operations - installation and commissioning
  11. Maintaining good working relationships with the client and professional team.
  12. Stakeholder engagement and management
  13. Controlling contract costs and variations.
  14. Value engineering projects to create cost savings.
  15. Co-ordinating M&E Services installations
  16. All health and safety requirements during the contract including compiling method statements and risk assessments
  17. Compilation and presentation of Operating & Maintenance Manuals
  18. Contract values ranging from £2m and above
  19. Healthcare experience

Skills and Qualifications

  1. IOSH directing safely
  2. CSCS card - essential
  3. SMSTS course - preferable
  4. Computer Skills - MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel.
