Job Summary:
To be responsible for the procurement, implementation, and close-out of the Electrical packages.
Salary: £80,000-£100,000 dependent on experience.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed scope documents for the tender packages.
- Discharge responsibilities for Health and Safety as set out in the Canary Wharf Group Health Safety and Welfare manual and the Canary Wharf Group Construction Health and Safety Plan.
- Ensure design deliverables are prepared in a timely and comprehensive manner to support the tender programme.
- Pre-qualify potential tenderers, compile a final tender list, and issue tender documents to them.
- Manage the tender process, including issuing updates, responding to queries, and conducting mid-tender meetings.
- Evaluate tender returns on technical, commercial, and programme baselines.
- Manage the post-tender period to obtain clarifications from tenderers.
- Conduct commercial negotiations and prepare a recommendation for award.
- Manage the preparation of the Contract Documents.
- Upon award, advise unsuccessful tenderers and archive all tender returns.
- Conduct a kick-off meeting to advise the successful Contractor of procedures and requirements.
- Ensure all project team members are informed of Contractor activities.
- Ensure Contractor submits all required documents in accordance with the programme.
- Conduct and prepare minutes of regular progress meetings with Contractors.
- Ensure Contractor's submittals and requests for information are promptly addressed.
- Supervise and inspect Contractor's work for quality and completion.
- Ensure Contractor tests work according to contract documents.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintain lists of defects and incomplete works.
- Ensure prompt handover of records and certificates upon completion of Contractor's work.
- Manage changes in design to minimize cost and programme impact.
- Assist the Cost Manager in the valuation of work and assessment of additional costs.
- Manage interfaces with the works of other Contractors.
- Maintain written records of Contractor's progress and archive relevant records.
- Prepare a final report on the package, including a commentary on lessons learned.
- Discharge responsibilities for Health and Safety as required.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by Senior Management.
What We Require of You:
- A relevant Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Building Services is desirable. A technical qualification equivalent to C&G HNC & ONC Building studies is essential.
- Experience managing M/E packages in a minimum of 300,000 sqft commercial development is essential.
- First-hand experience with fast-track design and construction programmes is essential.
- Proven quality construction experience from contracting, construction management, and/or the commercial development sector is essential.
- Self-motivated, team player, tenacious, and able to work well as part of the project team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially with Contractors and Design Consultants.
- Attention to detail and the ability to make commercially aware decisions.
- Conscious of and actively promote adherence to Health & Safety Standards and Procedures.
- Commitment to continuing professional development is essential.
- Computer literate with experience of document management systems; experience with Asite is desirable.
