Forming part of the SYNLAB Group, Lextox operates as a UKAS accredited laboratory situated in Cardiff. Lextox specialise in and provide drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings. SYNLAB in the UK is a trusted expert in clinical laboratory and medical diagnostic services.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Officer to join our Quality team in Cardiff. Working at our toxicology laboratory, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the quality management system, reviewing and improving processes, and ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 testing requirements.
Hours: 40hrs a week / 9am - 5pm, Monday - Friday / hybrid working.
The Role:
- Working directly with the Quality Manager to implement the requirements of the company Quality Management System and ISO 17025 standard.
- Responsible for the management, administration and development of the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Working directly with all departments, commercial and technical to ensure compliance to ISO 17025.
- Conducting and reviewing non-conforming work investigations to closure, ensuring corrective and preventive measures are implemented and effective.
- Responsible for the control of external and internal document updates, release and archive, ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures are correct, reviewed and fit for purpose.
- Undertake and complete internal audits in accordance with the audit schedule to ensure compliance with ISO 17025.
- Monitoring and reporting on quality performance metrics.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Science (Life Sciences/Biology/Chemistry/Toxicology).
- 2+ years' previous experience of working in a Quality role within an accredited laboratory.
- Experience of managing non-conformances and risks, internal auditing and report writing.
- Ability to work on own initiative and work to deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Knowledge of QPulse/eQMS (this would be an advantage).
