Coventry Building Society have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Cyber team.
A Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Security Products and responsible for providing strategic expertise to ensure effective management of the technical and business Services for the Security tooling across the society.
A key responsibility for this role is to be accountable for the implementation, transition, and ongoing support of the relevant security solutions at CBS to meet business requirements and architectural strategy.
You will be responsible for the creation, quality, and governance of technical and standards documentation to maintain a stable and consistent environment.
This role would be a great fit for someone who has a high level of technical knowledge to complete the troubleshooting and resolution to production incidents or problems to meet operational needs and ensures business as usual service is maintained to service and operational level agreements.
This role requires you to be on site in Coventry once a week and 2 days per quarter for PI Planning.
We're looking for an effective team member who will bring experience in Agile work practices and security-focused tooling, with a specialised emphasis on cybersecurity engineering. Your hands-on expertise includes implementing and managing security measures in both on-premises and cloud environments.
To be successful in this role, it's essential that you're able to demonstrate:
- Experience with performance tuning, proactive monitoring of cybersecurity solutions to identify and mitigate potential threats before they impact the organisation.
- Strong computer literacy, experience in using Microsoft Office products to create and manage documentation.
- Experience in understanding change management processes.
Technical expertise:
- M365 Product Suite
- Sentinel or Splunk
Desirable skills for this role are:
- Experience of Agile work practices and tooling (Service Now, JIRA).
- Performance tuning, proactive monitoring of solutions.
- Knowledge of systems management procedures in a large commercial, mission-critical environment.
