Senior Software Engineer - Back Market Pro

What you will do in this role Do you want to help thousands of companies change the way they consume electronic goods, and make Back Market the ultimate reference for refurbished IT equipment as part of Back Market Pro? To enable the adoption of refurbished tech by companies, Back Market Pro focuses on building and scaling a differentiated "Pro" experience tailored to the needs of medium to large businesses. Servicing companies not only means attending to their employees but can also mean servicing their full ecosystem (their clients, their users, their partners, etc.). To drive trust and confidence into refurbished for bulk purchases, we will build our value proposition around 3 key pillars:

• A curated B2B catalog: providing volume availabilities and high quality at attractive prices
• Strong pre-sales & care experience to meet the superior support-level and SLAs required by B2B clients, mainly towards "VIP" clients (mid cap to large enterprises looking for bulk purchase and repeat, seeking assistance & guidance)
• A B2B Tech environment building an online platform with B2B features (deferred payment, compliant invoicing, bulk purchases, multi-user authentication) and building "plug and play" API integrations to push our curated catalog and services into partner systems.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative senior tech lead to own, define and develop the user and seller experience for companies at Back Market Pro. Member of a team of 3 tech & 1 Product Manager part of a Business team of 10 people, your scope will cover the features of the B2B platform (checkout, account authentication and management, B2B catalog) as well as new "Pro" client services and the APIs for integrated partners. Working closely with executive leaders and partners within Back Market, external service providers and integrated partners' counterparts, you will be responsible for developing a comprehensive experience that meets companies' needs while promoting Back Market Pro's unique positioning and brand. The scope of this role is very broad, with high visibility and complete autonomy on the scope. It requires a blend of technical & functional expertise, data fluency, user understanding, and business acumen. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working on any aspect of our code base depending on the priorities. Your scope can be anything as long as we expect great impact from it. Close collaboration with the teams owning the various parts of our services will be essential. Using Inner source practices to provide code that is reliable, readable, tested, and easily maintainable will be your everyday goal. Depending on the changes to implement, you will potentially work with technologies or services you have no prior knowledge or experience. • At least 6 years of experience as a Software Engineer
• Willingness to learn about technologies and features with no prior knowledge
• Good knowledge of either JS and front-end technologies (VueJS or React, etc ) and Python or back-end technologies (Flask, etc.) and motivation to learn the other if not yet mastered
• Basic knowledge of infrastructure technologies (GCP, SQL, etc ) and web patterns (CDN, caching, HTTP, etc ) is a plus
• Sensibility to deliver optimised code that requires few resources to run and provides great performances
• Previous experience with e-commerce is a plus
• Rely on tests when writing code
• Always crafts easy-to-understand code
• Write extensive documentation and procedures when needed
• Ability to work asynchronously with people in various time zones
• Great verbal and written communication skills, in English at least
• Interest in our tech stack : GCP, Shopify, Algolia, APIs, Python, React, Datadog
