Job overviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic pharmacist to work in critical care. This vacancy is a fixed term maternity leave cover. The pharmacist will have the opportunity to work on the Enhanced Care Unit at Central Middlesex Hospital. The patient group is diverse taking adult surgical patients, often from complex gastrointestinal or orthopaedic surgery.

Main duties of the jobWe are looking for someone who has extensive clinical pharmacy experience, critical care experience and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team. You will need to have excellent communication, clinical and negotiation skills, as well as experience providing training and education to a range of healthcare professionals and patients. Experience in managing individuals or team(s) is also an advantage.
Person specification Education and qualifications- Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Council
- Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice
- MSc
- Previous publications in national journals
- Independent prescriber
- Wide range of ward pharmacy experience
- Good, broad clinical knowledge and ability to apply to a ward and dispensary setting
- Training, mentorship, supervision of staff
- Documented evidence of completed audit work and research practice
- Apply knowledge to practice
- Working knowledge of primary literature databases
- Appraisal of staff
- Experience in caring for level 2 critically ill post-op surgical patients
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Well-developed leadership and motivational skills
- Well-developed negotiating and influencing skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Good team player
- Knowledge of current therapeutics
- Previous experience as a tutor or mentor
