Senior Strategy Manager - Open Banking & Lending Products

We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the Issuing Solutions team in Value Added Services (VAS), with a focus on Everyday Banking and Lending solutions: someone with a passion for tech to envisage the evolution of our solutions and strong commercial sense to determine a path towards growth.

You will have accountability for solutions that enable FIs improve how they service their customers for the Everyday Banking and Lending needs, such as tink's lending solutions, selected high growth network products, as well as any future solutions that Visa develops globally. You will also be responsible for supporting and executing against the revenue growth ambitions, assess expansion opportunities in key markets and build value propositions, competitor analysis and GTM plans for these solutions.

You will work closely with Issuing specialised sales, sales engineering and VAS Cluster leads to execute on GTM. Partnering closely with Global Issuing Solutions and Product teams, tink product and Client Services you will ensure that solutions are fit for purpose, meet regulatory requirements and are overall market ready for Europe.

Responsibilities cover all markets across the European region and require close collaboration with Issuing Solutions sales and sales engineering and global teams.

What we expect of you, day to day.

  • Is the subject matter expert for selected VAS Issuing solutions related to Everyday Banking and Lending that determine how consumers interact with financial institutions to enable non-carded payments (via PISP providers) and frictionless onboarding to new products and services.
  • Be responsible for innovation in E2E Lending journeys for the consumer market, helping customers improve underwriting and credit risk assessment processes.
  • Support competitive analysis, customer insights, and market studies with market-facing teams to aid the development of new features and capabilities.
  • Create new value propositions for account to account payments for issuer banks, working closely with VAS Sales and Sales Engineering to assess feasibility, commercial viability and validating use cases.
  • Work closely with Europe VAS market teams to identify new FI client verticals to scale and distribute tink payments and data products.
  • Identify opportunities for solution improvements to address evolving client needs, local market conditions, and foster innovations beneficial to both clients and Visa.
  • Be the voice of customer internally for the Everyday Banking and Lending area (e.g., their needs, how they think, buying criteria for our solutions) and spread your knowledge to other teams to help inform decisions.
  • Identify and nurture opportunities for Payments and Lending lifecycles that span across platforms of Visa and acquired entities (e.g. product synergies, bundling of solutions, narratives).
  • Manage the product lifecycle in Europe for solutions assigned to. Work with Global product owners and internal partners to influence the product roadmap, with an eye towards innovation and product improvements to ensure Visa can remain competitive.
  • Provide regular updates and reporting to all levels of Visa management on key metrics and objectives, adapt overall programme tactics and strategies to address challenges, issues, opportunities. Create strategies and approaches for the development of necessary product readiness materials, operating models, and business plans.
  • Develop strategies for providing ongoing training and information materials to help market teams effectively sell and deploy our solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and documentation for both internal and external audiences through working groups, webinars, and other formats regarding product ownership.
  • Support key priorities and initiatives from both Global and European leadership as required.
  • As requirements of this role evolve, adapt to growing needs of the Issuing Solutions team.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Mid-level product management in payments product or technology roles.
  • Experience leading discussions with clients, 3rd parties and FinTechs, displaying an ability to think laterally, bring new ideas to the table and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Solid understanding of Open Banking Technology and Providers (AISPs and PISPs).
  • Good knowledge of banking products and E2E journey for Payments and Lending.
  • Knowledge of credit and lending journeys in consumer and SMEs markets.
  • Ownership and driving impact are important aspects to the role, must have the mindset to fully understand and quickly overcome commercial, technical, industry and internal challenges to succeed.
  • Familiar understanding of digital issuing capabilities, payment processing and core banking, digital payment APIs.
  • Industry knowledge of FinTechs, solution providers is a must.
  • Curious and inquisitive problem solver.
  • Rigorous thinker, ability to transpose business and technical understanding to relevant market inputs with sales and product teams within Visa as well as with external client discussions, leading to quantifiable commercial opportunities.
  • Understand how to scale and distribute products and services within a technology company.
  • Comfortable in iterative and continuous change to maximize opportunities and drive efficiencies.
  • Strong ability to progress solutions and enhancements with urgency and prioritized focus for commercial and strategic benefits for our customers and Visa.
