Role Overview:
I am seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer with over 5 years in the industry to join a successful Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy in London. This role involves overseeing a range of projects and managing a team of graduate engineers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage projects across various sectors, including residential, commercial, public, educational, and temporary works design, from concept to completion.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and architects, actively participating in project proposals and fee negotiations.
• Conduct initial concept and feasibility designs, producing detailed reports and leading Design Team Meetings (DTMs).
• Independently review and validate detailed designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Evaluate contractor tender submissions and provide insightful recommendations to clients.
• Conduct regular site visits during critical construction phases to ensure adherence to safety and design specifications.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to graduate engineers, technicians, and other project team members.
• Facilitate technical training sessions for graduate engineers and placement students.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and familiar with design codes, particularly Eurocode.
• Strong conceptual design skills with experience in 3D modeling.
• Exceptional attention to detail and sketching abilities.
• Practical understanding of structural detailing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and effectively.
