Service Charge Officer

At Sovereign Network Group (SNG), we're looking for a Service Charge Officer to join our Finance team, based from our Wembley office.

This is a hybrid working role where you'll be in the office 2 days per week.

The Role:

As a Service Charge Officer, you'll support the delivery of accurate service charge accounting and billing for all tenure types. This role ensures compliance with agreed policies, statutory obligations, and best practices, while maintaining high data accuracy and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring accurate service charge accounting and billing
• Maintaining and improving data quality across an assigned property portfolio
• Collaborating with internal teams and external organisations to ensure service charge costs are correctly identified and recharged
• Supporting the annual service charge setting process and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations
• Assisting with year-end audit preparations and audit pack provision
• Working closely with housing management to investigate and resolve any service charge queries or complaints
• Ensuring timely reporting to Neighbourhood and Leasehold Services of invoices posted to budget codes

What We're Looking For

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong working relationships
• Knowledge of Service Charge Accounting best practices is desirable
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage with non-finance staff
• Ability to meet deadlines and adhere to month-end timetables
• Experience in resolving queries promptly and working independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
