Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Surgical Directorate at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Service Manager. This Service Manager post is a key position within the Directorate responsible for providing day-to-day operational management for a clinical service alongside delivering and development of improvement initiatives for patients and staff.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Experience of working within a multi-professional team and of working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A strong commitment to improving services whilst remaining passionate about quality and safety.
  • A proven track record of successful operational management experience and will demonstrate a high standard of communication and organisational skills.

Above all, demonstrate a proficiency for working closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams to ensure the effective delivery of high quality care across outpatient, inpatient and day unit settings.

Working for our organisation

The Surgical Directorate comprises of surgical services delivering assessment, investigation and treatments for patients referred on Elective and Emergency Pathways with benign and malignant conditions. The surgical team deliver weekly operating lists across two sites to provide immediate and subsequent surgical treatment for patients who are diagnosed with Cancer.

  • Acute operational management experience, in a complex organisation.
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting information to identify and manage variances in performance and identifying solutions to deliver improvement.
