The Vacancy

Binnies, an RSK Group Company, is looking for a Site Engineer to join our Alliance.

What will you be doing as our new Site Engineer?

Our site engineers play a critical part in the successful delivery of our projects. You'll be managing the day-to-day quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks, and approvals. You'll also be assisting the site management teams with all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Day-to-day site quality assurance, including surveying, setting out duties, quality checks, and approvals.
2. Supporting the Site Manager to liaise with the Engineering and Integration team to resolve conflicts and ensure work is carried out in line with specifications and drawings.
3. Assisting the site management teams with all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management, liaising with commercial, procurement, planning teams, and supply chain management.
4. Supporting the Site Manager in calling off materials, stock control, etc., and liaising with the procurement team to ensure orders are not exceeded without authority.
5. Highlighting any areas of concern before they become an issue.
6. Ensuring programme, quality, and cost are delivered.
7. Exploring alternatives to identify better ways of delivering the need.
8. Minimising waste by ordering the required materials to optimise project performance.
9. Striving to minimise capital carbon through innovation, substitution, and elimination.

Skills, Experience, and Behaviours

You will be able to demonstrate experience of being part of large-scale infrastructure programmes of work, the ability to plan ahead, and ideally experience of Temporary Works supervision or lifting supervision, however that is not essential. You should have a proactive approach to resolving unexpected technical difficulties, with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm to innovate and get the job done, along with a desire to pursue a career in construction.
