We have a great opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, committed and flexible Registered Nurse to join our Sexual Health Team at Homerton Healthcare Trust, on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave for 1 year.

The Sexual Health Service provides staff with a great opportunity to learn and develop their clinical, nursing, and leadership skills.

You will be placed on a supportive and structured education and training pathway, centred on reflective supervision, clinical skills, research, and leadership.

This post will involve working across sites in sexual health as well as a rotation programme into the HIV department.

Main duties of the job
  • The post holder is expected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive nursing interventions aimed at clients with contraceptive and sexual health needs including HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
  • The post holder will be part of a rotational program, receiving training in GU, the HIV unit, and outreach.
  • The post holder will carry out delegated nursing tasks and review the effectiveness of the nursing care provided without supervision.
  • The post holder will coordinate the team when designated to do so.
  • Where appropriate, the post holder will be required to participate in the educational activities of the department and act as mentor/preceptor to nursing students and healthcare assistants.
  • To meet the needs of the service, the post holder will work across all sites including Homerton, The Ivy, Leadenhall, and John Scott.
