Job overviewAn opportunity has arisen at Northern Contraception, Sexual Health & HIV Service to join our friendly team at our Hathersage Centre hub. Our Integrated Sexual Health Service provides Level 3 contraception and Sexual Health services with a number of clinics across Greater Manchester.
The post holder will have experience in sexual health, contraception, and HIV care, holding the DFSRH/STIF qualification or equivalent.
The post holder will undertake duties of seeing patients independently within an integrated sexual and reproductive health service, participating in clinical duties commensurate with their banding, experience, and competence.
Main duties of the job- To perform symptomatic and asymptomatic screening, venepuncture, and vaccination as an autonomous practitioner.
- To provide sexual health advice to clients as appropriate, including supporting the role of the health advisor.
- To undertake the administration of hormonal contraception and medicines under agreed Patient Group Directions (PGD) or as a non-medical prescriber.
- Your main place of work will be at The Hathersage Centre; you will also be required to cover our spoke clinics located in Cheetham Hill, Newton Heath, and Harpurhey.
- We will consider appointing to a band 5-6 training position if there are no applications from suitably qualified nurses.

Person specification Training/Knowledge- Current and in-depth knowledge of issues relating to confidentiality & consent
- Current and in-depth knowledge of local and national safeguarding processes/policy and guidance relating to under 16's, under 18's, and vulnerable adults
- Understanding of risk management/clinical governance
- Current and in-depth knowledge of sexual and reproductive health
- Knowledge of current national developments in sexual health services
- Registered Nurse or Midwife
- Degree or working towards
- Recognised post-registration qualification in Sexual and Reproductive Health
- Experience in sexual and reproductive health at Band 5
- Proven ability to participate in the audit process
- Teaching and assessment of pre and post-registration students
- Participation in research
- Currently practising in the specialty
- Experience in undertaking staff Personal Development Reviews/Appraisal
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
