The Smart Grid Solution team is looking for an experienced power systems engineer to help develop new technologies for the changing power grid. This team is responsible for designing power grid control and monitoring systems. Numerous global challenges such as climate change, vehicle electrification, and distributed renewable generation are putting immense pressure on existing power infrastructure.

We are looking for a Power Systems Engineer to help define and develop a range of hardware and software products for MV/LV distribution grid monitoring. We seek someone with intimate knowledge of distribution grids and what it will take to modernize them. A good working knowledge of secondary substations and distribution grid architectures is essential, along with an understanding of DNO/DSO operations and the standards and regulations related to grid-attached equipment.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Become team expert on distribution grids
  2. Translate regulatory requirements into product specifications
  3. Meet with customers to determine their current challenges and system requirements
  4. Translate customer requirements into product specifications
  5. Work with hardware and software development teams to bring products to market
  6. Drive customer lab evaluations, field trials, and compliance testing of new products

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems role
  3. Experience working at or with Utilities
  4. Technically savvy and showing an aptitude for utilizing new and innovative technologies
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and articulate system requirements
  6. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to visit customers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia markets
