We're looking for a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at The Harley Street Clinic currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC.
Based in London's medical district, our hospital is accessible and is considered an employer of choice. Our pharmacy team delivers an exceptional patient-centred service across our world-renowned campus that houses several centres of excellence from Cardiac to Diagnostics to Complex Oncology.
As a Rotational Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for working across all aspects of the core pharmacy services which may include provision of medicines management, advice and evidence-based practice to inpatients and outpatients, patient and aseptic services, risk management and clinical governance. You will be joining a team working across various specialities, including both outpatient and inpatient settings as well as dispensary. The Harley Street Clinic provides exceptional specialist care in all areas of cardiology and cardiac surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, neurology and neurosurgery and critical care.
To participate in the daily running of all areas of the pharmacy department, including designated time in the dispensary, outpatients, and including provision of clinical pharmacy to complex inpatient areas such as critical care, theatre, specialized surgery like gastro-intestinal, cardiac and neurosurgery.
To provide a safe, proactive and patient-focused clinical pharmacy service to all patients, staff and practitioners. This includes undertaking medicines reconciliation, assessing pharmaceutical needs, assessing and facilitating the use of Patient's Own Drugs, discharge planning, cost effective medicines usage, including prescription monitoring and supply, provision of drug information, evidence-based practice and patient counselling, reporting any clinical incidents as necessary.
Provide a comprehensive clinical pharmaceutical service including prescription monitoring and supply, provision of drug information, evidence-based practice and patient counselling, including participation in ward rounds.
Provide medicines advice and information to improve prescribing within the multidisciplinary team (MDT), using evidence-based medicine guidelines.
To develop and maintain a pharmacy service that is proactive and responsive to the needs of patients and service users.
What you'll bring:
- MPharm (or equivalent) and registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Postgraduate Certificate/ Diploma/ Masters in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent) or willingness to enrol
- Experience within a hospital pharmacy setting as a registered pharmacist
- Specialist clinical knowledge relevant to job role
