Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate for a new and exciting vacancy within Greenwich secondary care mental health. This post is suitable for a newly qualified psychologist or existing Band 7 candidate looking for diverse experiences in an alternative setting.

Main duties of the job

We welcome applicants who enjoy working closely alongside other disciplines and within a context where multiple psychological approaches are valued.

You will work with people from different backgrounds and will ideally be passionate about equal opportunities and client-centred care. Working with clients across the psychosis team, you will have an opportunity to develop experience and skills in psychological interventions with a varied client group.

We especially wish to develop systemic and group work in the team. The post holder will work collaboratively with teams in different clinical contexts including group work, assessments, systemic and family consultations, and individual therapy. They will receive regular supervision and access to networks to support their professional development. If desired, there are also opportunities to gain experience in different teams including our local Family Therapy service.

The locality base is in Woolwich. As a London borough, Greenwich offers a rich, culturally diverse and stimulating environment and the post will receive the outer London weighting.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide a qualified Clinical Psychology service to clients of the ICMP (psychosis and bipolar) pathway across all sectors of care. This includes providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy with individuals, families, and groups; consulting with families, team colleagues, and non-professional carers about psychological models and ideas; and working within the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. There is also an expectation for the postholder to develop group and/or systemic and family work in these contexts.

  • Experience of working with people with personality disorders, psychosis, or complex mental health issues
