Job OverviewJoin our thriving Podiatry Team in Merton as a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist! This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our patients while developing your career in a supportive and innovative environment.
Main Duties of the Job- Participate in the CLCH Podiatry band 6 rotational programs.
- Autonomously assess and diagnose patients with various medical and podiatric conditions.
- Create and implement tailored treatment and specialised care plans for a range of patient groups.
- Undertake additional specialist clinics as part of CPD and a clinical rotation programme.
- Recommend the use of a limited number of prescription medicines.

- BSc Degree in Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior to 1991).
- Evidence of continual professional and personal development.
- Registration with the Health Professions Council.
- Certificate in local anaesthesia.
- Evidence of post-graduate training in specialist area(s) of podiatry.
- Postgraduate clinical experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working.
- Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease/pathology types.
- Experience of working as part of a specialist team.
- Experience of working in an NHS environment.
- Experience of clinical supervision/mentoring.
- Experience of service development.
- Knowledge of recent developments in the profession.
- Knowledge of foot orthotic design and manufacture.
- Knowledge of CoP code of conduct.
- Understanding of Clinical Governance.
- Knowledge of treatment options for managing high-risk tissue breakdown.
- Up-to-date knowledge of clinical issues and treatment development.
- Awareness of national policies and procedures relevant to preschool-aged children.
- Ability to manufacture simple insoles.
- Ability to cope with a busy and varied workload.
- Perform clinical treatments in physically restricted positions.
- Ability to multi-task and concentrate on diagnostic and analytical skills.
- Ability to cope with patient anxieties and employ techniques to support them.
- Adaptable to various working environments.
- Driving license and access to a car.
