Job Description

Job Description - Speech Therapist / Clinical Specialist (7796)

Purpose of Position: Serves as a clinical resource for Rehabilitation staff in a focused area of clinical expertise; plans and conducts treatment programs for patients. Responsible for assisting management in the planning, development, organization, and supervision of the specified clinical specialty area. This includes Program and Staff Development for therapy services related to the clinical specialty area. Responsible for direct Clinical Therapy Services as determined by patient need and staffing.

Description
  1. Participates in clinical consultation and co-treatment with rehabilitation staff.
  2. Plans and presents in-service education and continuing education courses as requested.
  3. Performs the duties of a staff physical therapist or occupational therapist.
  4. Maintains professional growth and development through approved seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise.
  5. Participates in the clinical instruction of physical therapy or occupational therapy students, as requested.
  6. Attends meetings as required.
  7. Assists in training/orientation of new personnel as requested.
  8. Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications
  • Entry-level degree in Speech-Language Pathology (JOB CODE 00103) from an accredited Speech-language Pathology Program.
  • Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a minimum of three (3) years clinical experience.
  • Documentation of Specialist Certification.
  • Holds current National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Schedule Details: 80PP (40hrs per week), Rot. Days, 8a-4p, Outpatient position with rotating inpatient coverage for weekends and holidays.
