As we expand our IT and networking capabilities, we are seeking a Network Architect to design and enhance our global network infrastructure.

About the Role

We are building out our network architecture function and are looking for a highly skilled Network Architect to take ownership of designing and optimizing the network for our 20 global offices. This role will focus on network design, security enhancements, cloud networking, and AI/ automation while also providing strategic guidance to our networking team.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on while also leading projects and mentoring others. You will be instrumental in shaping our future network strategy, including evaluating SD-WAN adoption, ensuring seamless integration with AWS cloud components and using AI and automation to create efficiencies and scalable deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement a scalable, secure, and high-performance network architecture for Genesys' 20+ global offices, starting with a thorough evaluation of the existing infrastructure and processes.
  2. Lead networking initiatives, from on-premises infrastructure to cloud connectivity, with a focus on AWS cloud networking.
  3. Architect and implement network automation, utilizing Ansible and other tools to enhance efficiency and reduce manual configuration.
  4. Design and implement AI to drive efficiencies, improve performance, and manage infrastructure.
  5. Evaluate and implement SD-WAN solutions as part of the network modernization strategy.
  6. Enhance network security, including segmentation, zero-trust principles, and integration with security tools such as Zscaler.
  7. Collaborate cross-functionally with IT leadership, security teams, and cloud engineers to align network architecture with business goals.
  8. Mentor and guide the network engineering team, providing technical expertise and strategic vision.
  9. Develop documentation for network designs, standards, and best practices.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  1. 7+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering and architecture.
  2. Strong expertise in Cisco networking (switching, routing, firewalls).
  3. Hybrid cloud networking experience, particularly with AWS networking services.
  4. Proficiency in network automation using Ansible (or other automation tools like Terraform, Python).
  5. WLAN & WiFi Standards: Expertise in WiFi security configurations, authentication protocols, and wireless network optimization.
  6. Routing & Switching: Strong experience with OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP protocols.
  7. Virtualization: Hands-on experience with VMware and Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
  8. VoIP: In-depth knowledge of SIP, SIP trunks, and QoS configurations for voice networks.
  9. Experience with enterprise networking technologies, firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN solutions.
  10. Experience using AI for network management and deployment.
  11. Security-focused mindset, experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation.
  12. Familiarity with SD-WAN and its benefits (prior implementation a plus).
  13. Strong collaboration skills to work across IT, cloud, and security teams.
  14. Excellent documentation and presentation skills.

Preferred:

  1. CCIE certification strongly preferred.
  2. AWS Certified Advanced Networking certification.
