Job Overview:Applications Engineering is a multifaceted, deeply technical role, where you will not only use your expertise but your social skills to support our partners through their technical challenges. This role is mostly focusing on Arm IP and Subsystem products that target the Automotive markets.
Working with customers means that you will need to understand what they want to achieve, analyze their requests and issues and provide a solution that moves them forward. As your experience grows, you will develop and present training courses on our products to customer development teams, and also provide reviews and advice on their system designs. You may be required to mentor and guide other team members, passing on your deep experience and expertise to assist with developing best working practices within the group.
You will collaborate with engineering teams and new product planning teams, acting as the voice of the customer to motivate changes which improve our products and help our partners adopt new technology. You will also raise defects against products, review documentation and periodically write application notes, example source code and knowledge base articles.
Responsibilities:- Provide fast and accurate technical answers to customer questions
- Develop and deliver technical training courses on IP systems, both onsite and remotely
- Perform SoC design reviews of customers' Arm-based systems and provide functionality and optimization recommendations
- Work with Arm IP design and product management teams to improve partners' experience and influence IP feature development
- Develop tools and techniques to aid Application Engineers solve problems more efficiently
- Mentor junior members of the team
- Deep experience designing or verifying ASICs and other digital systems
- Proven understanding of SoC architecture and design principles, especially for Automotive applications
- Experience debugging RTL issues, including in silicon
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Perl/Python)
- Ability to work with remote teams and software teams
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills
- Arm CPU Architecture and AMBA bus protocols
- High speed I/O: PCIe, CXL, CCIX
- Experience with failure modes, effects, and diagnostic analysis (FMEDA) or dependent failure analysis (DFA) would be a plus.
- Understanding of Function Safety (FuSa) knowledge and processes, including knowledge of ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.
- Experience of SoC design for FuSa products is also a plus.

- A Degree or equivalent experience in Electronic Engineering
