Saint Mary's Newborn Services Division is one service across three sites; the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is based on the Oxford Road Campus (ORC) and the Local Neonatal Units based at Wythenshawe and North Manchester General Hospital. We have opportunities for Staff Nurses to join our team in one of our rotational posts, working across sites, providing you with a great opportunity to develop your skills and experience in different clinical settings. We are confident we can provide you with this experience and meet your aspirations by supporting you to work across the NICU and LNUs who care for babies with differing needs.

Main duties of the job

We specialise in providing care for a range of complex conditions such as:

  1. Respiratory diseases
  2. Renal conditions
  3. Cardiac conditions
  4. Neurological conditions
  5. Babies requiring surgical care
  6. Complex genetic and metabolic disorders
  7. Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) screening and treatment

Whilst working in ICU, HDU, Special care areas. Whether you are a newly qualified or experienced Neonatal or Children's/Adult Acute Care nurse looking to further your career and your professional future, we have the opportunities available to support you.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Qualified in Specialty
  • Evidence of level 6 study
Experience
  • Experience of working on own and as part of a team
  • Neonatal placement (including Spoke)
  • Experience within acute care setting
  • Desire to work within a neonatal setting
Skills and knowledge
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workload
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Evidence of wider reading around neonatal care
  • Evidence of drivers to neonatal care
