Location: London Kings Cross Station
Salary: £28,083.18 per annum

About the role:

Based at London Kings Cross, you will ensure that customers have a great experience at the station on behalf of Grand Central, Hull Trains and LUMO; responding to customer queries such as wayfinding within the station, train departure times, platform numbers, ticket validity and onward travel information. You will also coordinate with train crews and other station teams to ensure effective and timely train boarding and departure, especially supporting customers when services are delayed or cancelled.

What You'll Do:

  1. Be visible and available to provide outstanding customer service at all times, using your judgement to Do The Right Thing to resolve issues on behalf of customers.
  2. Support customers when trains are delayed or cancelled, providing updates and information regarding alternative travel options to help customers reach their destination.
  3. Liaise with Network Rail representatives and other Train Operator staff to ensure a safe and comfortable station environment for all customers and colleagues, taking ownership of your work area in accordance with health and safety guidance, to identify and report any facility issues or equipment faults.

What You Bring:

  1. Customer Service: You will be a great face-to-face communicator with previous experience working in a busy customer service environment and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
  2. Problem Solver: You can tackle any challenge with a smile and find solutions when things get tricky.
  3. Communication: You are comfortable liaising with a wide range of colleagues at the Station to coordinate service arrivals and departures which help customers to make their journey.
  4. Flexibility: Shift patterns of the role are on a rota basis which covers a 7-day operation with early starts from 07:10 am and late finishes at 20:40 pm; therefore, you will need to live within a commutable distance from London Kings Cross.
