Consultant Geriatrician
Salary:
£105,504 - £139,882 per annum
Location: Royal Derby Hospital
Hours: 10 sessions per week (plus 1 in 6 weekend sessions for Royal Derby Hospital-based post or General Medicine On-Call at Queen's Hospital Burton)
Contract: Permanent

Job Overview

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB) is seeking Consultant Geriatricians to join its Department for Medicine of the Elderly (DME) team. The Trust is expanding the team to meet the growing needs of the community, with part-time applications welcomed to support the achievement of full establishment.

Essential Criteria:
  1. Full GMC Registration with a license to practice
  2. MBBS/MBChB and MRCP qualification
  3. Eligibility for entry on the GMC Specialist Register, or within six months of receiving a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or CESR in Medicine for the Elderly at the time of the interview
Preferred Criteria:
  1. Five years of supervised training in an appropriate SpR-equivalent training program, with advanced clinical skills in Medicine for the Elderly
  2. Strong technical competence in geriatric medicine
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Teaching and Research Experience:

Teaching:
  1. Experience in and commitment to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students
Research:
  1. Publications in peer-reviewed journals
Management and Administrative Experience:
  1. Experience in audit management
