THE ROLE
As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Damen Naval, you will ensure the quality and timely delivery of essential equipment for our state-of-the-art naval vessels. Your role involves evaluating products and manufacturers, conducting field surveys, and organizing Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT). You will ensure all elements are covered in evaluation reports and follow up on actions, non-conformities, and rectifications to ensure timely resolution.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing vendors, flagging delivery and quality issues as part of Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA).
Aligning with the Project Quality Manager, including relevant qualification criteria for compliance and performance.
Identifying and managing corrective actions, escalating issues when necessary.
Planning and executing risk-based field surveys and supplier qualification audits.
Managing FAT planning, coordination, execution, and reporting, ensuring all preconditions are met.
Acting as the main contact during field surveys, audits, and FATs, managing stakeholders effectively.
Performing verification and validation against specifications during FAT, handling non-conformities.
Ensuring timely resolution of actions and rectifications from FAT.
Assisting with monitoring, expediting, and reporting on hardware and delivery dates, arranging transport and shipping.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Shipbuilding or Quality management.
- At least five years relevant experience in a relevant Engineering, Production, Commissioning (EPC) environment.
- Experience with compliance and quality processes in a technical production environment and in working with supply chain applications and tools.
- Certificates of specialist courses in the field of auditing, quality inspections and non-destructive inspections.
- Solid knowledge of production and quality processes.
- Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
- Awareness of business travel or working abroad, possibly frequent, of long duration and/or intercontinental.
- Available and willing to frequently travel internationally to our supplier's locations.
Excellent references, as a security screening is part of the hiring process.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
