Surveyor / Senior Surveyor - Affordable Housing - Development Valuation

We are looking for a Surveyor / Senior Surveyor to join the Affordable Housing team within our UK Residential Value and Risk Advisory business.

The Affordable Housing team in JLL's UK Residential Value and Risk Advisory business needs a Surveyor or Senior Surveyor in a replacement role on the development valuation side of the team. Busy, growing, and very successful in our market, the team needs a valuer who can learn quickly to support complex development land valuations of social housing throughout the country, coupled with providing an exceptional level of service to our existing client base. Social housing experience is a prerequisite for the role.

Working in support of a Director, this role would suit someone who has experience of working with DCF valuation models, development appraisals, residual valuations, is comfortable handling large amounts of data, highly numerate, and with a keen eye for detail. Fluent report writing and strong communication skills with clients; registered providers and local authorities are essential, coupled with an empathy for the social housing sector.

The role would be based at our London office, to suit the successful applicant, but with flexible and hybrid working. Some travel nationally will be required for client meetings and potentially for inspections.

Required or Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • MRICS qualification (essential) and 1+ years' PQE.
  • RICS Registered Valuer.
  • Proficient in the use of Argus Developer.
  • Experience in the valuation of property assets using DCF, either residential property or other asset classes.
  • Fluent user of MS Excel, including data analysis and some financial modelling.
  • Comfortable handling large amounts of data.
  • Excellent written English, with the ability to produce high quality, accurate reports in MS Word with good attention to detail.
  • Detailed understanding of the planning process.
  • Project management with experience of supporting client relationships and instructions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to manage multiple, competing priorities.
  • Strong work ethic, with a demonstrable commitment to client service.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated.
  • Flexible, team player.
