Our client, a well-established player in their industry, is seeking an IT Application Support Specialist to strengthen their existing team. The goal: ensure the continuity of business-critical applications and provide day-to-day support to users.
Your responsibilities
- Ensure the monitoring and proper functioning of applications across different environments
- Responding requests from development teams and the support team
- Provide suggestions and improvements (e.g., optimization) in response to requests
- Monitor and manage business applications
- Handle incidents in both production and test environments
- Analyze, prioritize, and resolve issues based on business criticality and priorities
- Actively contribute to updating and enriching the team's knowledge base
- Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts for system management and problem resolution
Technical skills
- Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent professional experience
- Solid understanding of databases such as DB2, Oracle, or others
- Strong prioritization skills, organizational mindset, and team spirit
- Rigorous and autonomous in your work
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and attentive to users' needs
- Proactive, with initiative and a problem-solving mindset
- Willingness to expand your knowledge and expertise
- French-speaking with a good command of English; Dutch is a plus
- Experience in programming is a plus
- Experience with Mainframe and/or Unix environments is a plus
- Experience in object-oriented programming (like Java) and/or Cobol is a plus
