This is a 12-month placement opportunity within Leviat, split between our Brentford and Dunstable offices. This offers valuable experience across our Remedial Solution division and our Anchoring & Fixing division. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of our business through a rotational program, spending six months at each office location:

Anchoring and Fixing:
• Design and specify relevant structural connection and anchoring products
• Produce calculations using the in-house software for various products
• Assist in the preparation of quotes
• Produce sketches and layout drawings to assist the customers
• Liaising with engineers and contractors to obtain the relevant information.

Helifix Modern Methods of Masonry Repair:
• Diagnosing the cause of defects in existing masonry
• Designing solutions to fix masonry defects and to preserve the heritage structures around the UK and the World.

Key Tasks

  • Learn how to uncover the form of construction of masonry buildings.
  • Learn how and where to apply code-based and Engineering calculations, and where Engineering judgment is appropriate.
  • Gain practical experience working on a diverse range of projects, from small-scale residential extensions to large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Enhance your engineering skills through hands-on experience and exposure to industry best practices.

Key Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Basic understanding of structural design principles in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry materials.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience

  • Experience with structural products (e.g., connectors, fasteners).
