We want to hire a dedicated technical writer to improve all aspects of our technical documentation and have an impact on both our development team and customers.

We provide a low latency, high throughput distributed messaging system to the e-trading Fixed-income markets. We are foremost a technology service provider and support part of our customers' trading infrastructure. Our core products involve API connectivity and GUIs for electronic trading.

Here's what the job entails:

  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including API guides, user manuals, integration guides, and knowledge-base articles.
  • Engage with technical teams and internal stakeholders to extract key details and understand complex processes, then translate them into user-friendly content suitable for different audiences, including developers and non-technical users.
  • Conduct user research to identify documentation needs and improve user experience.
  • Continuously improve the user and developer experience by creating and iterating on world-class technical content.
  • Work with customer support teams to identify common user issues and create FAQs or troubleshooting guides.
  • Write software release blog posts.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • 5+ years experience working with engineers, conducting user research, and refining documentation based on audience needs.
  • Ability to communicate about APIs, SDKs, cloud/bare-metal connectivity services.
  • A programmer's mindset, or a background as a developer with a record of producing excellent documentation.
  • Familiarity with best practices for storing and maintaining documentation, ensuring it stays relevant and up to date.
  • A record of community engagement in open-source software, documentation, research or other disciplines.
  • Understand FIX protocol and networking fundamentals (OSI Model).
  • Have technical expertise in APIs, including RESTful APIs, endpoints, HTTP methods, and error handling.
  • Can write code or navigate the Linux CLI.
