What are we looking for?
We're seeking a conscientious and committed team player to join the Base Maintenance Support Group in maintaining tooling and a large fleet of equipment, ensuring they are serviced and compliant for the safety and security of all engineers. You might be just starting out or some years into your career, most importantly you're proactive, curious, collaborative, passionate about the safety, security and punctuality of our operation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Tool control
  2. Ground equipment control, deployment and delivery
  3. Seasonal operational readiness
  4. Carrying out appropriate safety checks and escalating and reporting any issues
  5. Undertake any other related ground activity tasks as required for obtaining the expected operational performance improvements for Base Maintenance.
  6. Ensuring all tooling and equipment is serviced and clean together with having the correct asset level required to support the day-to-day operation.
  7. Supporting the Engineering department with activities that contribute to safe and timely aircraft input and outputs of Base Maintenance.
  8. Carrying out safety checks, raising and reporting any faults or issues.
  9. Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and contributing to a safe, secure, and effective Engineering operation at Heathrow.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  1. Physical fitness to handle manual tasks.
  2. Resilience to handle outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  3. Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
  4. Ability to hold a full Airside Identity Pass (Essential)
  5. Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check and with no disqualifying convictions.
  6. Full UK category B driving licence for a manual vehicle with no more than 3 penalty points (Essential)
  7. Airside Driving Permit holder or ability to obtain this with the requirements above. Training can be provided (Essential)
  8. Undertake and pass a medical assessment.
  9. A responsible attitude towards safety and security in a demanding environment (Essential)
  10. Operationally focussed (Essential)
  11. Experience in a Mechanical or Equipment background (Desirable)
