Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

As a Trainee, you will be joining the Global Markets division (MARK) of SG Corporate and Investment Banking. MARK offers a cross-asset approach along all its offerings across Research, Investment & Risk Management Solutions, Execution and Prime Services to asset managers, pension funds, companies, private banks, insurance companies, hedge funds, family offices, sovereign funds and distributors worldwide.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

You will join the Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) team in London as a Trainee Product Specialist within the Marketing & Origination team and will evolve in an international, dynamic and fast paced environment integrated within the Sales, Trading and Quantitative Research divisions.

The QIS Team, including structuring and marketing & origination teams, oversees designing and packaging systematic strategies into an investable format. The team has a cross-asset coverage (Equity Derivatives, Equity Cash, Fixed Income & Currencies, Commodities, Cross-Asset portfolios).

Summary of responsibilities

  1. Designing, developing and producing detailed commercial presentations, and other marketing materials on Quantitative Strategies to clients and potential institutional investors
  2. Promoting Quantitative Strategies and the QIS team by answering requests from Global Sales
  3. Collaboration with the various teams of Financial Engineers & Sales from different platforms (New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo)
  4. Taking part in idea generation for the development of new Quantitative Strategies
  5. Market Watch and analysis of the competition offering
  6. Project management including management of the internal database and launch of new indices
  7. Responding to proposal requests

Profile required

  1. The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in a Finance-related subject
  2. Some work experience in a similar field advantageous
  3. Excellent level of written and verbal English essential
  4. French-speaking skills advantageous
  5. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) essential
  6. Python skills advantageous
  7. Excellent mathematical skills and a good basic understanding of financial markets advantageous
  8. Good communication skills necessary to interact with Sales and other Engineers
  9. Ability to manage complex processes dealing with multiple internal and external resources
  10. Ability to work autonomously on presentations, analysis and projects
