Course: Electrical & Electronic Engineering BEng (part-time), we will sponsor the fees to this course whilst you work part-time at Cundall.

The Role You'll Play

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Trainee Electrical Engineer to join our Edinburgh team and learn what it takes to carry out the design of electrical services on some of the most exciting projects in the UK and worldwide.

You will assist with detailed electrical building services engineering design and analysis and help define and translate client requirements into workable designs for buildings, facilities, and services (electrical distribution and power generation, security and access control) all with sustainability at the forefront of the design.

You will be provided training by our expert engineers on how to perform cable sizing and protective device settings selection and shown how to use calculation software such as Amtech, SKM, or Etap.

Cundall will support the Trainee Electrical Engineer in completing an Electrical & Electronic Engineering BEng (part-time) course at Edinburgh Napier University while working at Cundall.

The Skills You'll Bring

To be considered for the role you will be required to have either of the following:

  • SQA Higher - BCCC including Maths (Higher Applications of Maths not accepted) and a Science (excluding Biology) or Technical Subject
  • At least three A levels at Grades A - C (104 UCAS points) in STEM related subjects (Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics)
  • Completed a Level 3 BTEC
  • Completed a HND qualification.
  • Taken part in the PlanBee scheme; you will also qualify for this course.

  • During your studies/work experience, you have developed a keen interest in engineering or construction.
  • A keen interest in learning new skills and a willingness to work hard to reach your goals.
  • Possess the personal qualities and organization skills to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, and be a confident communicator, looking for a career in creative, sustainable, and intuitive design.
