As a Trainee Environmental Advisor, you will gain experience in many aspects of environment and sustainability management but also wider exposure to the delivery of this leading civil engineering project.
What you'll do:
- Understand the client and Skanska's Environment and Sustainability policies, processes and statutory requirements.
- Work towards monitoring and collecting data, to aid reporting on performance against the project's targets.
- Undertake internal inspections and audits, including targeted risk monitoring, both on site and within the supply chain.
- Provide environmental compliance advice to various teams working on the project.
- Identify and provide training and upskilling required to fulfil environmental responsibilities of various delivery team roles.
- Identify and communicate environmental and sustainability risks and mitigations, assisting with the review and undertaking of risk assessments and method statements.
- Maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders such as local authorities, Natural England, Environment Agency and others.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement to achieve contract targets, particularly in reducing carbon and enhancing biodiversity.
What you'll bring to the role:
- 3 A-levels at Grade A - C, preferably in Geography or Biology, BTEC Extended National Diploma or equivalent level 3 qualification.
- 5 GCSEs at Grades 5-9 including Maths, English and Science or their equivalent for us to successfully enrol you on the apprenticeship.
- You will enjoy working with other people.
- Enthusiasm to learn.
- Curious about sustainability.
What qualification will you be studying towards?
Degree Apprenticeship at a local University to the project on a weekly or block release basis.
