Job IntroductionAre you ready to drive impactful change in London's transport services? We're looking for a Transport Services Project Officer to lead the coordination and delivery of three major transport programmes at London Councils.
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Oversee the upgrade of London Lorry Control Scheme (LLCS) on-street signage, ensuring compliance and visibility across boroughs.
- Support the rollout of Automatic Number Plate Recognition(ANPR) cameras, enhancing enforcement efficiency.
- Manage the development of a new Case Management System (CMS) and a rebranded Urgent Care Badge (formerly Health Emergency Badge), improving access for healthcare professionals.
What you'll be doing:
- Engage with key stakeholders, including borough councils, TfL, and contractors to deliver these projects effectively.
- Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and communication plans, ensuring smooth implementation.
- Work closely with the internal Transport Services team to align initiatives with London's evolving transport policies.
- Make a tangible impact on London's transport infrastructure.
- Work with a diverse network of partners, from local councils to private sector specialists.
- Lead innovative solutions that enhance enforcement, accessibility, and public safety.

Role Responsibility- Stakeholder Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with boroughs, TfL, and contractors. Represent London Councils in meetings, contract discussions, and project planning to ensure successful outcomes.
- Project Management -Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of three key projects, improving efficiency and service delivery. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets while coordinating activities with internal teams and external partners.
- Project Implementation -Ensure effective execution of project actions, maintain risk registers, track milestones, and provide strategic guidance to align goals with deliverables.
- Communication -Draft reports and key documents, update stakeholders, and present project progress, challenges, and solutions to senior management and external partners.
- Monitoring & Evaluation -Establish metrics to assess project impact, review data, and recommend adjustments for continuous improvement.
- Compliance -Ensure all project activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and governance requirements.
Someone with:
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, public policy, project delivery and working in a public sector environment.
- Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
- Project planning, risk management, and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local government structures, processes, and issues (desirable).
- Proficiency in data analysis (desirable).
