Job Description

Hands-on consultant to help build the DMS practice and direct supporting resources with expertise in client file management and DMS matter centric solutions for large law firms and corporate legal departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting clients with the design & implementation of DMS systems along with other technologies, specializing in iManage Matter Centric deployments.
  • Maintaining a high level of technical expertise, industry knowledge, and professional disposition.
  • Designing, documenting, implementing, deploying, and, when applicable, managing implementations of DMS systems.
  • Evaluating existing DMS implementations and developing recommendations for problem resolution, enhancement, and tuning; presenting recommendations to client's management, administrative, and/or technical staff.
  • Developing, maintaining, and managing against project plans, implementation timelines, and application distribution schedules.
  • Developing and refining existing design and implementation methodologies.
  • Defining, documenting, and implementing best practices for the DMS practice group.
  • Maintaining and developing vendor relationships specific to the DMS practice area.
  • Maintaining current and ongoing knowledge and certifications with appropriate training opportunities.
  • Mentoring and coaching members of the team within the DMS group on individual projects and best practices.
  • Maintaining a high level of subject matter and technical expertise as well as industry trends and knowledge with appropriate training and professional development plans.
  • Presenting at trade shows and CIO Roundtable, authoring articles and white papers for industry trade publications.
  • This is a full-time remote/telecommute position. Extensive travel may be required.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have substantial law firm and law firm consulting experience for consideration. Experience in the analysis, design, implementation, administration, and support of electronic document management systems, with a history of matter centric design (WorkSite 8.X).
  • Highly experienced (5+ years) consulting in the Legal Vertical with a proven track record of estimating and leading MCC projects - particularly Focus Group sessions with lawyers.
  • Experience and competence in working with Microsoft SQL Server databases, especially with the iManage WorkSite databases and schema. 2-3 years of experience required.
  • Experience with complex, large-scale implementations and product rollouts. 7 to 8 years required.
  • Experience in the integration of desktop applications with document management systems. 2 to 3 years required.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 2 to 3 years required.
  • Understanding of legal word processing functions and associated workflow. 2 to 3 years required.
  • Experience in the analysis, design, implementation, and administration of Microsoft NT Server-based networks. 2 to 3 years preferred.
  • IRM Certification and implementations preferred.
  • Understanding of the business of law firms, including risk management issues facing firms.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills as well as presentation experience.
  • Track record of speaking and writing on law firm DMS issues, including speaking at conferences such as ARMA and ILTA.
