The opportunity
We're looking for an Underwriting Analyst to join our Zurich Global Employee Benefits Solutions (ZGEBS) Underwriting team, based in Mark Lane, London. Whether you've just started out in your Underwriting career or wanting to progress with some experience behind you, this role could be for you!
It would be great if you have group Life, Health, or Disability Underwriting experience, but don't worry if you haven't. Your development is important to us, so if you're eager to learn, we will invest in your development. As part of a team of Group Life, Disability, Accident and Group Medical underwriters, you will be involved with underwriting of new and renewal cases, and support the Senior Underwriters.
What you will do
- Assisting the Underwriting team with collecting and validating renewal information.
- Use a disciplined approach to risk assessment of renewal group business.
- Support senior underwriters in assessing, monitoring and reporting on major risks.
- Work closely with account managers and network partners to support business retention.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of tools and processes supporting the underwriting area.
- Contribute to the ongoing performance management of the book of business.
- Ensure documentation is executed in line with Zurich guidelines.
What are we looking for?
- Knowledge of Life, Disability and/or Health insurance or practical experience in the pricing or underwriting of group insurance products would be beneficial.
- Strong English communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- A team player who enjoys working in a dynamic and multi-cultural organisation.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience in a financial analytical role would be beneficial.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Currently working towards or happy to obtain qualifications such as CII.
