Job Description

OUR MISSION
To become the car-changing destination of choice. By combining technology, media and deep automotive expertise, we've turned how people buy, sell, advertise and lease cars on its head. What started as a simple reviews site is now one of the largest online car-changing destinations in Europe. Last year alone we grew over 50% with nearly £3bn worth of cars bought on site, while £1.8bn of cars were listed for sale through our Sell My Car service. In 2024 we went big and acquired Autovia - creators of AutoExpress and Evo magazines - doubling our audience overnight. Together we now have one of the biggest YouTube channels in the world with almost 10m subscribers and over 1.1 billion annual views, while we sell 1.2 million print copies of our magazines and have an annual web content reach over 350 million. And we're a long way from done!

YOUR MISSION

As a Video Content Creator at Carwow, you'll play a pivotal role in creating engaging, high-quality video content for our YouTube channel. You'll be responsible for filming, editing, and delivering content that captivates our audience and drives our mission forward. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, creative environment, where your work will be seen by 10s of millions of car enthusiasts worldwide.

  • Create engaging video content efficiently to meet our ambitious posting schedule on YouTube.
  • Attend occasional video shoots (approximately once per month) to assist the camera crew in filming cars.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and wider team to understand workflow and communicate effectively during project scheduling meetings.
  • Bring creative ideas to the table; we love to experiment with our content and try new ways of entertaining and educating our audience.
  • Develop a strong understanding of YouTube analytics and implement data-driven insights into your work.
  • Operate autonomously as a camera operator or assistant during video shoots.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in video editing and filming, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
  • A creative mindset with the ability to generate fresh ideas for engaging content.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of YouTube analytics and how to apply insights to improve content.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for video shoots. You will ideally have a full driving licence and car and be able to drive to shoots when required.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Passion for cars and the automotive industry is a huge plus!

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience working on automotive-related video content.
  • Knowledge of camera operation and lighting techniques.
  • Familiarity with green screen editing, Top 10s, car reviews, and drag race content.

WHY THIS MIGHT NOT BE FOR YOU

This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. If you prefer a slow-paced, predictable workflow, this might not be the right fit. Additionally, if you're not passionate about creating automotive content that resonates with a global audience, this role may not align with your career goals.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

  1. Introductory call with our Talent team.
  2. First interview: A chance to discuss your experience and portfolio with the hiring manager.
  3. Second interview: A practical task or presentation to showcase your skills.
  4. Final interview: Meet more of the team and discuss how you'll contribute to Carwow's mission and align with our company values.
