At Babcock we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. If you join us as a Weapons and Complex Systems Director, you will be part of a senior leadership team within our Naval Nuclear Business.

The role

As a Weapons and Complex Systems Director, you'll have a key role in Babcock's contribution to the submarine enterprise, providing critical leadership and engineering oversight for the weapons and complex systems teams.

Key activities include:

  • Working with the MoD customers within the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) to deliver engineering support to deployed submarine weapons and complex systems.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with customers and Industry Partners in the weapons system enterprises.
  • Driving the business forward as a member of the Naval Nuclear Senior Leadership Team.
  • Providing engineering capability for individual submarine maintenance projects.
  • Ensuring capability sustainment for submarine weapons and complex systems.
  • Identifying new initiatives for future engineering support.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week with an expectation of at least two days in the office environment.

Essential experience:

  • Senior leadership experience in engineering teams.
  • Experience of leading, training, and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in engineering projects.
  • Experience of engineering governance and assurance.
  • Broader business experience in commercial, financial, and procurement elements.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in an Engineering or Science discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution (i.e. IET, IMechE).
  • Chartered Engineer status.

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who can achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
