Witness Care Officer (Secondment/Fixed Term Contract)

Department: Criminal Justice, Witness Care Unit

Location: Calcot, Reading, Home Address (Hybrid)

Rank/Grade: TVP Broad Band 3F

Salary: Band 3F, circa £29,986 per annum, plus benefits

Part/Full Time: Full Time - All roles are available for flexible working including job sharing and part-time unless there are legitimate operational / business reasons why this cannot be accommodated

Contract Duration: Secondment/Fixed Term Contract until 31 January 2026

In this rewarding role, you will provide contact, primarily by telephone, to victims and witnesses of crime; offering support and guidance as you work to increase the level of witness attendance at court. Confident working on your own initiative, you will be completing administrative tasks in order to ensure the efficient management of each case.

Essential Experience: Experience of working in a customer-focused role with strong interpersonal skills is essential, together with the ability to effectively negotiate and persuade with a wide range of people. You will be comfortable working both alone and within a team, without close supervision, whilst maintaining a professional manner and must be IT literate in Microsoft Office packages.

Note: Shift allowance, on-call or other job related allowances from the previous role will not be protected unless they are attached to the new role for the duration of the secondment.
