What is the role about?
We're seeking a Senior Workday Finance Consultant to play a key role in leading Workday Financials engagements across a diverse range of clients. This position offers the opportunity to work autonomously while collaborating closely with stakeholders to design and deliver cutting-edge financial solutions. You'll act as a strategic advisor, solution architect, and hands-on implementation expert-bringing both technical expertise and business insight to the table.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead end-to-end Workday Financials implementations, including design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Serve as the primary functional advisor for clients, translating complex financial requirements into scalable Workday solutions.
- Facilitate discovery workshops and design sessions to align system functionality with business processes and strategic objectives.
- Oversee and deliver functional workstreams across projects, ensuring deliverables meet scope, quality, and timeline expectations.
- Provide guidance on best practices for Financials modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Procurement, and Financial Reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve financial system issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Develop comprehensive documentation including process flows, test scripts, and functional specifications.
- Support data migration, validation, and financial reporting automation efforts.
- Mentor junior consultants and support knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying enhancement opportunities post go-live.

As a VR consultant, you will have the flexibility to manage your own day, as long as you meet your set objectives and client demands. Often your team will be a mix of on-site and remote based members who will connect using IM, video calls and an online ticketing system. Good communication skills and time management are essential for this role.
What skills are we looking for?
Our roles are remotely based (even pre-Covid), meaning you will be working from your home office, connecting with your client and team on a daily basis.
To be successful in this type of environment, you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively (in English) with cross-functional teams, explain complex concepts in easy, understandable terms, align HR / business knowledge with Workday functionality, and proactively drive process improvements. You will need to be comfortable with video calls and be proactive in keeping communication channels open with your client and team.
Skills and Experience Required:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Workday Financial Management (ideally across multiple clients or industries).
- Proven track record in leading Workday Financial design sessions and solution delivery.
- Deep understanding of Workday Financials architecture, security, reporting, and business process configuration.
- Functional expertise in key modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, and Financial Reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a consultative mindset.
- Workday Financials Certification (preferred).
- Experience with data migration and adaptive planning is a plus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
Other Qualifications/Skills that will be beneficial but not mandatory:
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOX, IFRS, and GAAP.
- Understanding of integration touchpoints between Workday and third-party systems (e.g., banks, tax platforms, expense tools).
- Exposure to other ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is beneficial.
As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in the EU or UK region, so long as you are authorised to work without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
