This primary school is looking for a caring and committed Year 6 Intervention Teacher in the Newham area to offer vital one-on-one support to a class of 8 children with challenging behaviour and those requiring extra academic assistance. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and dedicated to fostering the growth and well-being of students.

About the Role:

As a Year 6 Intervention Teacher, you will collaborate closely with the class teacher to provide personalised one-on-one support for a student with challenging behaviour and additional academic needs.

•Work directly with the student to support their academic, emotional, and social growth.
•Tailor resources and teaching methods to address the student's unique needs.
•Build a positive, trusting relationship to boost confidence and engagement in learning.
•Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement individualised learning plans.
•Track progress and share feedback with the teacher and parents as needed.

What you will need to succeed

•Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant undergraduate degree
•Has experience of teaching in KS2
•Eligibility to work in the UK
•Possession of a current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Hays
•Experience working with young children or supporting individuals with challenging behaviour (preferred).
•Patience, empathy, and a positive mindset.
•A strong dedication to ensuring every child's success.
