The RoleWe are seeking to appoint a Year Manager within the Pastoral and Support Team at Longfield Academy. We are looking for a creative, adaptable and reflective practitioner with experience of multi-agency working. The successful candidate will put all pupils at the forefront of every decision they make through being supportive to the individual but 'holding the line' to avoid the impact of poor choices on the whole school. We require the candidate to understand how the academic and pastoral elements of education connect.

QualificationsEssential qualifications and skills include:
- At least two years' experience working with children and families.
- Good understanding of statutory guidance and good practice around attendance, suspensions, and exclusions.
- Good understanding of the education system and recent and upcoming developments within Personal Development, behaviour, and welfare.
- Experience of working with other agencies to improve outcomes for young people.
- Developing knowledge of child protection and safeguarding procedures and processes.
- Developing knowledge of GDPR requirements and understanding of confidentiality.
- Experience of working in partnership with parents and carers and the ability to have challenging conversations.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a range of different audiences including providing sensitive feedback to parents/carers and other professionals regarding pupil development.
- Ability to work collaboratively to understand and intervene with regard to a wide range of vulnerability factors.
- High level of ICT skills including competent use of Microsoft Office packages e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to record and check data accurately.
- Ability to analyse data, draw relevant conclusions and make appropriate recommendations for action.
An enhanced DBS check is required for this post, and the successful applicant will either need to apply for a DBS or give Northern Arch Learning Partnership consent to check their status if they are registered with the DBS Update Service.
