3D Piping CAD Administrator

Duration: 12 Months. This would suit a LTD company contractor operating outside IR35.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced 3D Piping CAD Administrator with expertise in SmartPlant 3D or PDMS and Puma5. This role involves:

Experience in setting up and administering the piping classes database to ensure seamless integration of materials, specifications, and components.

As part of our design team, you will collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that all piping layouts and models meet technical requirements and comply with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customization
2. S3D Catalog Creation
3. Piping Specs and Catalog - Should have good understanding of piping rules, equipment, Electrical, Instrumentation and Structure Catalog Creation.
4. Symbol Creation
5. Isometric Customization - Piping Isometric Customization including creation of labels.
6. View Style Creation - GA drawings view styles for Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation and Structural.
7. Reports Creation - Should have good understanding of S3D Interfaces and class relationships.
8. Administration activities - Should be well versed with GWC configuration.
9. Should have hands-on experience with S3D Setup activities which includes database restoration/ permission groups and setting up of system hierarchy.
10. Should have hands-on experience in Interference setup and codeless interference rules.
11. Should have hands-on experience in creating naming rules.
12. Resolution of Designer Issues - Should be well versed with modelling procedures and should have hands-on experience in troubleshooting designer issues and development of best practices for modelling.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in SmartPlant 3D and/or PDMS software for 3D piping administration.
• Experience in setting up and administering piping classes databases to manage piping components, materials, and specifications effectively.
• Knowledge of piping specifications, material selection, and industry construction standards.
• Experience with piping design in industries such as oil and gas, chemical, or construction.
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to troubleshoot issues related to database management and 3D model integration.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently while adhering to deadlines and project constraints.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with SmartPlant 3D or PDMS in 3D piping database integration.
• Ideally experienced on Puma5.
• Material database management.
• Experience with setting up and administering piping classes databases.
