We're on the hunt for a proactive and detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join our passionate Finance team at Les Mills UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their finance career (or already part-qualified) to get hands-on experience across the full accounting function - and we'll even support your studies while you do it.
THE ROLE: ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT
Location: London (Hybrid - 2 office days per week)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Study Support: Yes - financial support provided
Reports To: Head of Finance - UK
As our Accounts Assistant, you'll be a key player in our Finance team - supporting the day-to-day operations, month-end close, and continuous improvement of our processes. You'll collaborate across departments to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounts Receivable & Bank Reconciliation
- Perform daily bank reconciliations of customer receipts and vendor payments
- Reconcile web sales accounts, ensuring accurate transaction matching
- Monitor accounts receivable, flagging and escalating any potential bad debts
- Covering accounts inbox monitoring as required - Accounts Payable & Expenses
- Assist with processing of employee expenses and company credit card transactions
- Respond to staff queries regarding expenses and payments
- Support in vendor communication and payment tracking - Month-End Support
- Assist with month-end processes, including setting up prepayments and intercompany recharges
- Ensure intercompany accounts are accurately reconciled and balanced
- Work through suspense accounts and perform other balance sheet reconciliations - Audit & Tax Support
- Support both external and internal audits by gathering financial data and preparing reconciliations
- Assist with tasks related to Corporation Tax and VAT - Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for continual improvement within finance processes
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Technical Skills & Experience
- Prior experience in a finance or accounts team (Part-Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or AAT qualified)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel - confident working with spreadsheets, formulas, pivot tables, large sets of data
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar accounting/ERP systems
- Experience using Salesforce and/or Adobe Commerce (Magento) is a plus
- Experience using online Financial Services, e.g. Klarna, PayPal, Braintree
- Experience using expense processing systems, e.g. SAP Concur
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
- A strong drive to learn, question processes, and seek improvements
- A personable and approachable nature with excellent communication skills
