We are looking for an experienced and people-focused professional to join us as a Senior HR Advisor.

About you

The role holder will be expected to provide a high quality, professional, effective and customer focused HR service to a range of line managers and staff across all departments within the organisation. This will include advice on complex casework, together with the ability to effectively interpret and apply policies and procedures, including recruitment. There will also be a variety of project work. You will need to be able to constructively challenge, persuade and influence managers to act and make decisions in accordance with policy and employment practice in order to minimise potential ET claims.

Team working and excellent communication skills are essential, together with the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will also be responsible for developing and coaching HR staff within a small HR Team, so leadership skills are crucial.

What's on offer?

  • A hybrid working environment with flexible working hours
  • Family friendly policies supporting those with caring responsibilities
  • Generous annual leave entitlement starting at 24 days (pro-rata for part-time workers) in addition to public holidays, rising to 29 after five years' service.
  • Access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities
  • Retail, holiday and leisure discounts through Hampshire Police Leisure and Sports Club or Blue Light Card
  • Excellent wellbeing support including onsite wellbeing rooms and access to Employee Assistance Programme
  • Staff representation groups and inclusion network

Minimum Requirements:

  • CIPD graduate (Level 7 Advances Certificate in Human Resources) or equivalent HR experience deemed to have brought the role holder to a comparable level.
  • Considerable experience in a general HR role, providing HR advice to a range of managers.
  • Experience of dealing with complex cases/enquiries.
  • Understanding of relevant UK legislation.
