Actuarial Manager - Modelling

The opportunityThis role is suited to an experienced individual with a relevant degree in statistics, engineering, actuarial science or similar and an interest in specialising in building high-quality actuarial and financial models and end-to-end process optimisation. The individual will be a subject matter expert in best practice modelling and contribute to developing and maintaining best practice collateral within the company using our technology platform, Psicle. The individual will also be responsible for managing a team of model specialists.
You will have proven experience of directly supporting internal or external clients to deliver on and improve their actuarial processes, be a great team player and have the ability to think creatively when providing advice and solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements- You have at least 5 years experience within the insurance market, with subject matter expertise in reserving or another area of practice.
- You have several years' experience in building high-quality models and an interest in end-to-end process optimisation.
- You have the ability to use your core skills and knowledge to solve problems outside of your experience.
- You care deeply about taking the lead in the collective success of the team and about delivering a high-quality work product to the client.
- You enjoy mentoring others, providing guidance and constructively discussing work performed by other team members.
- You are a strong self-starter and demonstrate curiosity and inquisitiveness in your work.
- You have a strong appreciation for the role that technology can play in businesses, either through formal studies in computer science/data analytics, or through hobbies such as coding.
- A good understanding of general coding principles and concepts, experience in SQL, SAS or Python is advantageous.
- Ongoing right to work within the country you are applying to.
