Advanced Clinical Practitioner: Haematology

We are currently looking to recruit a Haematology Advanced Clinical Practitioner, with demonstrable experience in autonomous practice. The post holder will provide expertise in their area of clinical practice, professional leadership, and education in the field of Haematology.
This role supports both inpatient and outpatient settings and manages the Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist team.
You will be joining a forward-thinking and dedicated team where patient experience and excellence in care are our priorities.

Main duties of the jobAs part of a multi-professional team, the post holder will work at an advanced level of clinical practice, operating autonomously and practicing collaboratively whilst demonstrating accountability and self-direction in line with the relevant code of professional conduct.
The post holder will be a clinical leader in their sphere of practice over a predefined period, enabling innovative solutions to improve care and patient experience. They will demonstrate advanced levels of clinical judgment and diagnostic reasoning to provide differential diagnoses.
The post holder should be able to work within a high-pressure environment. They will have knowledge and skills within haematology diseases and treatments, within a specified area, supporting advanced practice supported by a clinical supervisor. Additional skills and knowledge will be attained within their specialist area, enabling the review of patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).

Job responsibilities- To take responsibility for autonomously managing patients, utilizing specialist skills and knowledge as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to manage patients undergoing SACT in all clinical environments.
- To assess individuals and families using person-centred approaches and a range of assessment methods, including history taking, physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic tests, and conducting health needs assessments.
- To use clinical reasoning skills to undertake in-depth assessments, interpret findings, develop diagnoses, and formulate, communicate, implement, and evaluate management plans.
- To apply evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including prescribing medication where legally permitted, and monitor the effectiveness of these interventions.
- To promote value-based decision making, critically evaluating and applying knowledge and skills in a person-centred way, challenging protocols or workplace imperatives when necessary.

- Registered Practitioner (NMC, HCPC)
- Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice
- Advanced Communication Skills
- Psychological Level 2 training
- Teaching and Assessing qualification
- Management Qualification
- IRMER Certificate
- Significant experience in the specialty at band 7 or above
- Understanding of current issues within cancer nursing
- Experience of co-design with patients in service development
- Evidence of competent practice in managing patients undergoing SACT at a senior level
- Experience of research, individually or as part of a team
- Involvement in service user advocacy and complaints resolution
- Expert knowledge in the clinical field
- Highly developed, specialist clinical skills for the area of work
- Ability to manage and deliver complex and changing workloads, resolving conflicting priorities within tight timescales
- Evidence of clinical judgment and advanced decision-making in current practice
